    About the Role

    Integrated Security and Fire Inc. is hiring Fire Alarm Technicians to support commercial and retail fire alarm installation, service, and upgrade projects across multiple states. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, dependable, safety-focused, willing to travel, and interested in building a career in the fire alarm and life safety industry.

    Technicians will assist with the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and support of fire alarm systems in commercial environments, including retail stores, warehouses, and other business facilities. This position requires attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to follow project plans, site requirements, and safety procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Travel to assigned job sites across the U.S.
    • Assist with installation of commercial fire alarm systems
    • Pull, route, label, and organize fire alarm cable
    • Install and mount fire alarm devices, including horn strobes, strobes, pull stations, smoke detectors, duct detectors, monitor modules, control modules, speaker strobes, and related equipment
    • Assist with fire alarm panel work under the direction of a lead technician or project manager
    • Terminate, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm wiring and devices
    • Support fire alarm inspections, testing, and system verification
    • Assist with device labeling, documentation, and project closeout requirements
    • Read and follow blueprints, floor plans, device layouts, and site instructions
    • Follow NFPA, local code, customer, and company safety requirements
    • Work with lead technicians, project managers, inspectors, and customer representatives to complete assigned tasks
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area
    • Upload progress photos, job notes, test results, and completion updates as required
    • Represent the company professionally while working at customer sites

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Fire Alarm Technician required
    • Experience installing, terminating, testing, or troubleshooting fire alarm systems
    • Must be willing to travel for extended periods
    • Must be comfortable working overnight shifts
    • Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, ladders, cable, and equipment
    • Comfortable working on ladders, scissor lifts, and in commercial job-site environments
    • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and basic testing equipment
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
    • Reliable, punctual, and professional
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Valid driver’s license preferred
    • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

    Preferred Experience

    Experience in any of the following is helpful:

    • Fire alarm installation
    • Fire alarm service or troubleshooting
    • Fire alarm inspections and testing
    • Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Simplex, EST, Bosch, Siemens, or similar systems
    • Horn/strobe, pull station, smoke detector, duct detector, and module installation
    • Reading fire alarm drawings or blueprints
    • Low-voltage installation
    • Structured cabling
    • Commercial electrical or construction work
    • Retail or commercial remodel projects
    • Working with fire marshals, inspectors, or AHJs

    Work Environment

    This position requires frequent travel and overnight work. Technicians may work in active commercial sites, retail stores, warehouses, or construction environments. The role may involve standing for long periods, lifting materials, using hand tools, pulling cable, working on ladders or scissor lifts, and completing work under strict project timelines.

    Fire alarm work requires a high level of attention to detail because systems must meet life safety requirements, customer standards, and local code expectations. Technicians must be able to follow instructions carefully and complete work in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
